"Are Clinical Exercise Physiology Services Covered By Insurance?"
Yes. Clinical exercise physiology services are covered under Medicare, WorkCover, Transport Accident Commission (TAC), Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) as well as many private health funds.
Any services claimed under Medicare, WorkCover, TAC or DVA are only recognized if formally referred by a GP or other practicing specialist. Like any other service, clients are able to self-refer for EP services if covered by private health insurance.
Unlike regular personal training and fitness instruction, exercise physiology services are formally recognised as an allied health service, thus qualifying clients to be able to access services through Health funds and Government Health Schemes.
